About the event
When we come to Ḥazon 18, we are not just reading about “some city” at the end of the age.
We are looking at the final judgment of a whole world system, a spirit that has been around since Nimrod and ancient Babel, a system that touches money, religion, power, and even the souls of men.
In chapter 17, we saw the spiritual side of this system, the false religious Babylon that commits whoring against YHWH.
In chapter 18, we see the material side, the political and economic Babylon that runs the world’s trade, shapes the markets, and promises security through wealth. These two are married together. One feeds the other. One controls hearts. The other controls pockets.
The message of this chapter is announced with a shout from heaven.
