Giving & Tithing — Supporting Those in Need
And Elohim can make all favour overflow toward you so that you always have all you need in every way and plenty for every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 (TS2009)
Giving as an expression of faith, gratitude and love.
At Nathanael Ministries, we believe that giving is not simply about money. It is an opportunity to respond to what we have received with gratitude, generosity and care for others.
Throughout Scripture, we see God's people encouraged to give, to support those who serve, and especially to remember those who are in need.
"You shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother."
— Deuteronomy 15:7
What is tithing?
The word tithe means a tenth.
Tithing appears throughout Scripture in different contexts, including the provision of food, resources and support for the Levites and priests, the celebration of appointed times, and care for those who were vulnerable.
As we explore the Scriptures, we encourage everyone to examine what the Bible says about tithing, generosity and giving rather than simply accepting what we have traditionally been taught.
There is a difference between giving because we feel pressured and giving because we have chosen to respond with a willing heart.
"Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver."
— 2 Corinthians 9:7
Where does your tithing go?
At Nathanael Ministries, we want giving to have a purpose beyond simply maintaining an organisation.
Where funds are available, we want them to be used to support people in need and make a practical difference in the lives of others.
This may include helping with:
- Food and essential living needs
- Emergency assistance
- Supporting individuals and families experiencing hardship
- Practical help for those who are vulnerable
- Supporting community needs
- Helping people who are struggling to meet basic expenses
- Providing resources that encourage and strengthen others
We want generosity to become something tangible — help that reaches people where they are.
Giving is not a requirement for belonging. You do not need to give financially to be part of Nathanael Ministries.
There is no expectation that someone should give beyond their means, and no one should feel pressured to contribute.
"It is more blessed to give than to receive."
— Acts 20:35
Give. Support. Encourage. Bless.
Your generosity can help us continue exploring and teaching the richness of Scripture while also allowing us to extend practical support to people who are experiencing hardship.
Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of others.
